A shipmaster who worked the Redwood Coast, along California and Oregon, of the United States of America.
He was born in New Jersey in 1829.
He was a treasure hunter and diver, who dove on several shipwrecks in Mexico, (numbering into the 1000’s. Once he had acquired a load 100K he retired from treasure hunting.
He then settled in Coos County, Oregon.
He was a resident of Coos County, Oregon 1879 – 1889. Founded the town of Parkersburg. A major shipbuilding port on the Coquille River.
In 1875, he had the Parkersburg Mill built. Along with the 1st Jetty so ships could work work down on the Coquille River.
In 1876, he designed and had built the Katie Cook.
He was a shipmaster and shipwright.
From 1878 – 1889 he sailed the Katie Cook.
