11 Apr 1890 in an article in The Daily Morning Astorian of Astoria, Oregon it stated that: The steamship Sianal, Captain M. Bendegard, came down from Portland yesterday and left for Port Townsend and other points on Puget sound. She carried 10 sacks of flour, 19 sacks of oats, 260 sacks of feed, 2,707 sacks of wheat, 200 cases of giant powder and a miscellaneous cargo.
02 May 1890 in an article in The daily morning Astorian of Astoria, Oregon it stated that: The steamer Signal, Captain M. Bendegard, arrived yesterday from Seattle, and after reporting at the custom house, passed up the river for Portland. Her cargo consisted principally of 1,816 barrels of lime and 50,000 feet of lumber, the balance being household goods and machinery.
