Your Girl Friday International

I had been away from Ohio. I had left my things at a friend’s farm. I had been working on an archaeological project in Indiana. This was my first chance to visit and pick up a few things before heading back out to the field for another three month job. As with all visits to the farms the owners like to walk the grounds and show off improvements. A new paddock had been built around the horse barn. As we talked about the changes to the area I placed my hands on the top of the paddock feeling the smooth wood under my hands.

We heard a shriek.

“Who was that?

Between animals and kids it wasn’t clear.

Then there was a thud a thud a sound of running hooves. A white with black spotted Apaloosa who stood 16 hands appeared around the right side of the barn. He shrieked…
