In an article in The Oregon Daily Journal on September 29, 1915 it states that: Captain C. O. Bergersen replaces Captain FVed M. Johnson as master of the steamer Cleone.

In an article in the Western world on January 31, 1918 it states that: PHOENIX MAKES RECORD RUN Makes Trip to San Francisco and Return in Four Day*. The Steam Schooner Phoenix of the Fyfe-Wilson line arrived in the local port at noon today, just four days from tho time of departure from this port for San Francisco. The Phoenix left here Sunday noon. She steamed to the California metropolis,discharged her cargo of lumber, and returned to the local port in 96 hours, which, according to local waterfront authorities, is the fastest record ever made here.
