Penelope’s Diary
Dear Abby, it’s October again!! All the leaves have changed colors. My sister and I have collected gold, orange and red leaves to make into garland to decorate our rooms and the house. We liked to take it around the top of the walls. It’s a way of celebrating fall. Sometimes, the men help us put them high.
My sister thinks I’m silly for thanking each leaf. My kitty likes to tackle each leaf and pulls them down if we don’t taped it quickly out of her reach.
We drink cider made by my mother and aunt fresh from the apples, cinnamon and pumpkin while they are preparing them for dinner.
We have tossed branches from the apple and pumpkins and I love the spell.
This is day 1 of the Festival leading to the Harvest.
Good night Abby ..
